Cannonball Ireland is the largest organised road trip in Europe - the trip typically features 170 cars including the world’s top makes. Last year, thanks to the generosity of participants and supporters of Cannonball, we raised over €112,000 for the charity. We are delighted to be chosen again as the recipient of Cannonball 2015 and we are hoping to raise even more money to grant special wishes to deserving children.
We need event volunteers to assist us along the route. Do you have a few spare hours over the 11th -13th September? The roadtrip starts at The Point Village in Dublin City Centre and will then stop in Sligo Town, Killaloe, Killarney, Cahir, and Wexford Town over the weekend.
Hi all, hope you like our new newsletter design. Well, July gave us some interesting weather, didn't it? Plenty of downpours but luckily the sun decided to make a few appearances to lift everyone's spirits!
We would like to take the opportunity to congratulate our good friends in Dealz. They have met a wonderful milestone in our partnership raising €100,000 since partnering with us in 2011! That's not the end of their hard work though - they have plenty more fundraisers planned for the year. Did you pop into their Mad Hatter fundraisers in July? Don't worry if you didn't - they have lots more events planned so make sure you drop in and join in the fun - don't forget to congratulate staff on the wonderful charity work they have been doing for Make-A-Wish.
So far this year with your help we have granted 76 wishes. Our hope is to grant a total of 175 wishes this year so we still have a lot of work to do! Shannon, age 16, wished to meet Justin Bieber and said she would wait forever for it to come true! Luckily for Shannon her wish came true last week when she flew out to Los Angeles and met the man himself!
Woodie’s and Make-A-Wish have partnered together to make brave children’s wishes come true.
Woodie’s launched their WOW! Working on Wishes fundraiser on 23rd July with the aim of raising enough money to grant 37 wishes - one wish for each Woodie’s store! It is an amazing undertaking and we are so proud of the work and enthusiasm all of Woodie’s staff are putting into it.
The WOW! Working on Wishes fundraiser has two aspects: a grueling road cycle around Ireland and a static nationwide in-store static cycle challenge where store colleagues will “tag team” on static bikes. You can drop in to your local Woodie's store to see and support the static cycle challenge every Saturday in August and then follow the progress of the road cycle with #workingonwishes from the 27th until the 31st August.
