The Make-A-Wish team weren't the only glamourous attendees at the Ball! The ballroom was full of supporters, volunteers, celebrities, and new friends. The stars of the night was our Wish Family the Conneely family, particularly Wish Child Aideen - she stole the show!

A Note from our Chief Executive Susan O'Dwyer

Dear friend,

Welcome to the new monthly Make-A-Wish® newsletter. While summer is slow to make an appearance the Make-A-Wish team have been very busy granting wishes to wish children all over Ireland.

Our most recent fundraising event was our annual Crystal Ball which took place on the 16th May. It was a night of glamour, dancing and most importantly wishes. Thanks to everyone’s support on the night we raised over €72,000! One of the most inspirational moments of the night was when one of our wish families shared their story and experience. Wish mum Rosie gave a truly emotional and honest speech and when she finished the crowd gave a standing ovation. It was a powerful moment and reminded us all how important the wishes we grant are – not only to our wish children but to their family and friends too. You can read more about Rosie’s speech here.

So far this year Make-A-Wish has granted 45 wishes, with a further 28 wishes booked for later this year, giving 45 wish children and their families respite from their normal routines of hospitals, doctors, treatment, and sleepless nights. Our target this year is to grant 175 wishes and as we receive no government funding we rely entirely on the generosity of the general public. The support you give is invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Here is to the second half of 2015. We hope it continues to be as inspirational as the first! Please do let us know if you would like any further information or indeed would like to meet one of the team to discuss future opportunities.

Regards,

Susan O’Dwyer

Chief Executive

Aideen's Wish to be a Barbie Fashion Designer

Our wishes are only limited by our wish children's imaginations. Luckily there is no limit on a child's imagination so each wish is a unique and wonderful journey. When a child has a wish granted it affects everyone around them.
