The long awaited Irish summer finally popped by to say hello this June and not a moment too soon! At Make-A-Wish® we have had a jam-packed month and hope you'll enjoy reading about all our updates!
The VHI Women's Mini Marathon was a huge success and our Wish Team told us the rain did not hold them back but was actually a refreshing addition! We believe you ladies!
We also began our Pocketful of Wishes Appeal which was spurred on by the government decision to begin rounding up costs to get rid of 1c and 2c coins. We at Make-A-Wish see this as an opportunity for everyone to declutter and donate any small change found down your sofas and rattling around in jars and pockets to your favourite charity. These small copper coins can be turned into wishes for brave children who battle life-threatening illnesses.
Coming up in July, Debenhams will be supporting us through July and August with different fundraising events planned so keep an eye out for anything interesting happening in store! Speaking of upcoming events, our friends in Dealz are hosting a nationwide Mad Hatter's fundraiser on July 10th! Lots of fun fundraisers happening in Dealz this year make sure you drop in and see what fun and games they have going on!
All this fundraising helps us grant brave children's wishes. So far this year 62 children have had their wishes come true thanks to you and your support.

June Wish Story
Seán's wish to be a farmer
The wishes we grant are not always big and extravagant; sometimes a child's biggest wish can be a simple request. This month, Seán, age 4, from Tipperary, wished to be … A Farmer! Seán loves animals, tractors, and a good hearty meal!
And I'm happy to report that in early June his wish came true with some help from the Doyle family in Enniscorthy!

Well Done EY!
EY cheque presentation earlier this month
EY recently presented a cheque for €1,860 to Make-A-Wish which was raised through a raffle held by the Advisory Services team.
This was just one of many events held by EY staff who have been busy hosting and participating in Make-A-Wish fundraisers all over Ireland!
